Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. At the age five she relocated from London to Oxfordshire to attend the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor at age six. For several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing as well as dancing, and also acting. The movie beat all previous records on the opening weekend and numbers, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. The film has been praised by critics for its film and the performance of the three principal young actors. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Then Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film and was awarded her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in an feature Film.
