Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September 21 1983) is an American actress best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. After her parents' divorce the actress left Worthington in Ohio and moved at Los Angeles. Her first role came to her in the film, Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress in Lost for its first two seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace left the television series in 2005 to pursue the role of a greater part in film, appearing in the film Taken alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. In 2007, she was on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) were her reprises of characters. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost in the series, which included the conclusion. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth series of Californication. She is Faith an actress who acts as a muse to the stars and catches the attention to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She is a member of the Gyllenhaal family and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens she appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also she co-starred alongside her twin brother on Donnie Darko, a famous cult film. Later, she was as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics in both of her roles as the lead actress in Secretary (2002) as well as in Sherrybaby (2006), the erotic drama about romance and Sherrybaby (2006). She received a nomination from her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. She gained wider recognition after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) as well as a number of successful commercial films that she was a part of in 2006. Nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). Then she appeared in dramas and comedies such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 In addition to her role as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she was also seen in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). One of her most recent roles were the protagonist in The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal was able to make her writing and directed debut in the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
